Mike Allen, CPO, FAAOP
Mike is our Clinical Director and a second generation Prosthetist/Orthotist from West Texas. His father, AJ Allen, founded Allen Brace Company in 1954 and Mike was a daily companion with his father throughout his youth and his father’s growing practice. He received his formal training from the O&P program at New York University and graduated in 1977. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists’ Clinical Commitment award in 2003 and its Distinguished Practitioner award in 2006. He is a Past President of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, the National Association for the Advancement of Orthotics and Prosthetics and the Texas Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists. Mike has provided volunteer leadership in the O&P profession for many years, holding various office and committee appointments on both the state and national levels. He finds great pleasure in the fact that some of the patients he treats today were childhood playmates, originally seen by his father. Mike is married to Kim and has three children and nine grandchildren.
